Enrolment Policy and Profile

International Student Enrolment Policy

The School has a non-selective (no entrance tests- but English levels may be assessed before commencement) admission policy where each application is considered on its merits. The School has a comprehensive intake and is open to all students regardless of cultural, socio-economic and religious background. Priority is given to siblings of children already enrolled and to the children of ex-students. All applicants are expected to demonstrate a willingness and ability to support the School's Mission and to apply themselves to academic study and to participate fully in school life.

All enrolment procedures and practices comply with the various state and federal anti-discrimination laws including National Codes 2007 and ESOS Framework.

As a Pre K to 12 co-educational institution, the school has a practice of providing an equal number of places for boys and girls and wherever possible attempts to ensure gender balance.

All International Student applications must be submitted with supporting documentation including references, school reports, copy of Passport, results of public tests as well as information relating to any special needs. Often these applications will be submitted by Education Agents.

In assessing each application for enrolment, each prospective student's educational needs are considered and where necessary further information is sought in consultation with parents and other relevant people.

We strongly suggest that all International Students sit for AEAS Testing in their home country and submit results where applicable with Application Forms. Information on AEAS Testing and testing centres can be found at www.aeas.com.au

  • Although AEAS Testing is not compulsory we do give enrolment preference to those who do submit AEAS Testing results with their application.
  • We will also refund cost of testing to students once enrolled and studies have been commenced at Hills. This amount will be credited to School Account. This only includes actual cost of test (up to a maximum of AUD $500) and no other associated expenses to sit for test.
  • The AEAS test will also give students and Hills Grammar feedback on how many weeks of Intensive English is required (if any) before commencing at Hills.
